Healthy Diets That Work For You

By The Hoosier Diet Team

Countless healthy diets are available on the market today whether you care to take note of them or not.  A lot of people assume that fad diets or celebrity diets will work for them because they see thin celebrities who swear by them for their appearances.  If you are looking for a healthy diet plan, this is your first mistake if you decide your diet based on your favorite celebrity.

Celebrity diets or fad diets do not work for two reasons, and both of these reasons are why they are not healthy for you as a dieter to use.  This should be the most obvious, yet many people seem to fail to realize it. Celebrities have help besides the actual diet plan.  If you think Oprah got thin using Atkins, you are dead wrong.  True she may have cut out carbs, but she had a nutritionist pumping her full of everything else she needed in her diet and a personal trainer guiding her through her exercise routine.  It is doubtful you have access to either.

Second, every celebrity diet or fad diet usually works because it cuts out a piece of your diet that will temporarily cause you to lose weight.  In reality then, all of these are simply starvation diets which are terribly unhealthy for you and will never work to promote long term weightless as healthy diets should. Your body will quickly lower its metabolism since it is missing an important element and is trying to store whatever it can, or you will binge to the extreme on a certain material because you can’t stand it anymore.

Therefore, as easy and simple as they sound, well-balanced diets that contain all food groups are the best healthy one you can follow.  Of course there are things you can do to make them work the best for you, such as cut back on your bad fats intake, and increase your intake of fat burning foods which boost your metabolism.

Along these lines it may be helpful to know that healthy fats include fish, oils, soy, and nuts which are also great sources of healthy protein that will help with muscle training.  So these belong to a magical top of the food pyramid that is an excellent choice for healthy diets plans.  Also in the group of multi-purpose foods, is fruit that contains Vitamin C such as oranges, guava, and grapefruit.  Fruits are very nutritious and contain Vitamin C which is a natural metabolism raiser which means a natural fat burner.

Finally, you cannot find any healthy diets that do not contain exercise as a key ingredient.  Proper exercise is needed to burn off excess fat and promote steady muscle toning and weight loss all in one.  A well rounded exercise routine will involve at least three cardio workouts a week and at least four muscle strengthening exercises a week.  If you follow the diet tips, keep your caloric intake down and well-balanced, and stick to your exercise plan, you will be well on your way towards a successful diet plan overall.
